The B02964 is Castle's premium pilot hole bit that comes standard with all Castle Pocket Cutters. Its Brad and Spur tip tracks well, while taking aggressive "bites" of wood that keep the bit cooler. A thin layer of Titanium Nitrite (TiN) provides a thermal and lubricative barrier that protects the steel underneath. It is actually harder than carbide and the thin coating doesn't affect cutting ability or characteristics. In field tests conducted by heavy volume woodworkers, we found this bit to have up to three times the cutting life of our standard drill bits.

The B00338 is a 3/8" solid carbide, three flute rough mill cutter. This bit is the best choice for all your Castle Pocket needs and comes standard in every pocket cutter. It works well in hard and soft woods, leaving a clean, splinter free pocket. It also works well when cutting MDF, melamine, laminates and other composite materials. This bit regularly lasts three to five times longer than other rough mills. The geometry of this bit is engineered specifically for use with our machines and will deliver superior performance and durability. (Formerly RM-38C)
